Charles "Ernie" McEntire

November 28, 1946 - August 27, 2021

In Remembrance

Charles “Ernie” McEntire passed at 06:00 on August 27th 2021, at 74 years old, in St. Petersburg Florida.

Ernie was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on November 28th, 1946 to Pearl and Paul McEntire.
He graduated from Braggs High-school in 1965. He married his high school sweetheart, Norma Sanders, and joined the U.S. Navy. Ultimately, he served in 3 branches of the armed services, and afterward, acquired a bachelor's degree in both Tourism Management and Business from Northeastern State University. He spent the balance of his working life helping people. He worked for the Veterans in several areas and did social work for the community. He was an avid fisherman, traveler, and history buff. He was wise and kind, and friendly to all.

Ernie traveled the world. He had been to every US state outside Alaska and traveled overseas several times. He enjoyed learning about new cultures and meeting new people. His fondest wish was that his children have a desire to explore and experience all that life offered. He was passionate about learning and believed that every moment was an opportunity. He instilled that desire into his children and established a legacy exploration that remains with us.

After his wife Norma passed, he retired and spent his time visiting family. He met and married his wife Sheryl during this time. They relocated to Palmetto Florida and continued to travel.

He is survived by his wife Sheryl and children Charles, Anita, and Jeremy, as well as his brothers William and Gary. His siblings Eugene and Diana proceeded him in death, as did his wife Norma and his parents Pearl and Paul.
