Patricia "Patty" Ann Lauck McKnight

October 30, 1946 - October 08, 2021

Patricia "Patty"  Ann Lauck McKnight of Oakland, CA passed away suddenly in Oakland, CA on October 8, 2021.

Patty was born in San Francisco, CA on October 30, 1946 to Louis "Bud" Lauck and Shirley Dodge Lauck.  She graduated Oakland Technical High School year of 1964 She worked  many years as a fraud investigator and an operations manager at many financial institutions like Union Bank, UCB, East West Bank, Bank of America, Cal West Bank to name just a few. A very strong leader, she was always most concerned for those who worked for her especially after a bank robbery. If you did not know it, she took the well being of her tellers to heart.
Of the many jobs she had, she especially loved working at Nordstrom's where she worked in loss prevention. Not only did she enjoy putting away the bad guys, she also loved the employee discount.
Patty was a member of the CFCIA where she worked with many interesting people. Keeping all details confidential like a true security officer,  she expressed many times how much she learned, admired and enjoying working with various financial institutions and law enforcement.

A true Scorpio, she was a feisty woman, with a big and giving heart.

Patty enjoyed cooking, spending time with family, and watching her PBS shows.  Most recently she loved making food for the many people in her building and had found that she enjoyed finding new recipes for different types of cookies.
She was the Skipper of the S.S.S Trinity of San Ramon/Dublin, CA that was part of the SFBAC. She spent many of her weekends and summers sailing, working at the base, as a leader to young woman and teaching/sharing leadership skills to the amazing young women on the Trinity. All of whom she felt were her daughters and each had a special place in her heart.

Patty earned her Gold Bar as a Girl Scout and was a long standing member of both Girl Scouts of America as  Brownie to Senior Cadet and of Boy Scouts of America as a Sea Scout Leader.

She was a member of Eastern Star. She ran the line and was a Worthy Matron.

Patty was a Catholic and confirmed at St. Leo's of Oakland, CA

She is survived by Anita and James Luttrell (daughter, son-in-Law), Brian and Anja McKnight (son, partner), Christine McKnight and Spurgeon Harper (daughter, partner), Jeffrey Luttrell (grandson), Jayme Luttrell (granddaughter), Nicholas Pavlakis (son of Christine McKnight and Andreas Pavlakis)and Sydney Harper (daughter of Christine McKnight and Spurgeon Harper). Patty was predeceased by husband Kermit McKnight ('96),  parents Shirley and Bud Lauck, Aunt and Uncles Joyce and Lyle Williams, Gardener Dodge and many beloved cousins. She loved Brian and Christine as her own, when Kermit and Patty were married we often joked that our blend family was our version of the Brady Bunch, when really we were the Muppets. After Kermit and Patty married, she became obsessed with pigs and probably has 1000's of different time of pig themed items in her home. She was Kermit's Miss Piggy.

Patty will be deeply missed by her family, who's list is too long to include. In lieu of flowers, please support any local youth organization or  food pantry. Don't cut the flowers, plant more trees and greenery in the ground.

Services have not yet been planned but will be planned for in the future after the holidays.
