Robert Bruce Topping

May 05, 1953 - November 22, 2021

Robert Bruce Topping peacefully passed away at Memorial Medical Center on November 22, 2021 at the age of 68 from heart failure.

He is survived by his children, Lisa Chin and Shawn Topping; his sister Patsy (Patty) Ann Grizoffi, and brother William Charles (Charlie) Topping; his Grandchildren Luke Chin and Arianna Gonzalez-Topping. Predeceased by his father and mother, Ashley and Kathleen Topping; his Brother, James Ashley Topping.

Robert was born on May 5, 1953 in Fresno, CA to Ashley and Kathleen Topping. Robert Graduated from Fresno City College with a Business degree. He married Kristy Lee Spaulding and they gave birth to a beautiful girl, Lisa Dawn Topping. Robert very much wanted a son and one day they were gifted by adopting their son, Shawn Michael Topping.

Robert was a very loving son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend. He was a very hard worker and responsible man. He was the most giving person and cared so much about others. When people needed help he did what he could to help. His friends loved him dearly as he loved to host gatherings or was just the brightest person in the room treating them as family. Anyone who worked with Robert or Bob as he was known as,  loved how they were treated by him as he was fair and considerate.

Robert loved going to renaissance fairs, he loved walking long distances with his friends, playing disc golf, collecting swords, dragon collectibles, playing tribal wars with his friends, and loved medieval things.

Robert had many dear friends that were so close to him. The few he could really talk to and get into deep conversations with. He was always so thankful for the moments that were shared no matter what the adventure or calm and collect time was spent.

After working so hard in his life, Robert finally was able to retire and enjoy his time doing as he wished. He took his dream trip with his daughter Lisa and her husband Santi to England and Ireland. He then went on to enjoy Scotland for a week. The one thing he wanted to do before he passed was to take this trip, he couldn't have asked for anything more than to have experienced this with his daughter.

Robert supported his son in the hobbies and music. He also enjoyed the long talks and shared TV shows with his sons wife Angelica. Playing with his granddaughter and splashing in the spa having fun.  Through the journey his son had when making the music, Robert was there along the way to support it all. Taking in his sons friends into his home when they had no place to go and treating them as his own family. The friends of his sons became good friends, even family.

Robert loved music dearly. From classic rock to other various kinds of music. He would love to play air guitar and act as if he was playing in the band himself. He was always such a joyful person and had so much loving energy you wouldn’t want to stop being around him.

Robert (Bob) Topping, although your smile, your presence, your laughter, your charm, your physical being is not with us; we all have so many memories, moments, conversations long or short, trips, even hardships,  those times can never be forgotten and will always be held dear to our hearts. You were genuinely a wonderful man and truly missed by all. You are our Legend. We love you so much.

Gary Ross Anna Seyford. I was introduced to Bob through Gary Ross. Bob, Mike and Gary were school mates. They would come to Lake Tahoe and we would go meet the two of them at the casino and have dinner. I enjoyed Bob telling me stories about the high school days. Gary was able to take Bob and Mike out to the desert and took them in his side by side. Bob was not scared going fast in it. He really enjoyed that time with Gary and Mike . I know we will sure miss him coming to see us. I am so thankful Gary has two great friends, We are sure going to miss him. may you RIP.
