Roy Gurule passed away on March 18th, 2022 at his home in Phoenix, Arizona. He was previously married to Mary Coffman, they shared a life together for a quarter century and built their family.
Roy was the partner of Leticia Mejia, they shared a partnership for the past 4-years.
Roy Gurule was born in Phoenix, Arizona and was the son of Estanislao and Juanita Gurule. He attended Wilson School and St. Mary’s High School. He owned and operated his carpet business for the majority of his life. After retirement he held a part-time job at Home Depot.
Roy was a member of Sacred Heart Church. He enjoyed country line dancing and attending Marty & the Party. He always invited us all to attend the dance events at Desert Rose to dance and enjoy time together, especially the surprise birthday party for him held on February 11th, 2020. He was honored with a Sherriff badge and handed out deputy badges to all his friends. Roy always ensured our flooring needs were complete to a “T” and became an expert at backsplashes.
Roy is survived by his children: Monica & Robert Martinez, Dina & Manuel Rodriquez, Christopher Gurule and Caroline Mcluty & John Pendrick.
Roy’s siblings: Victoria Fajardo, Ramon Gurule, Larry Gurule, Juan Gurule, Lupe Smock and Anastacia Gurule.
Roy has 11-grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and his 2-dogs Rhino & Max.
