Xuqing Suzanne Zhu

January 02, 1927 - June 15, 2022

Xuqing, Suzanne, Zhu, 95, of Campbell, CA, passed away peacefully at home on June 15, 2022. Suzanne was a loving wife, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, a beloved teacher, mentor, and loyal friend. She loved life, was resilient and was very humble. Her God-given talent and dedication enriched many lives throughout her long life. She is now united with her husband, resting in peace in heaven with our God and our Lord. A memorial service in her honor and celebration of her life will be held on July 30, 2022, 3-5 PM at Campbell Church of Christ, at 1075 W. Campbell Ave., Campbell, CA 95008.

Suzanne was born on January 2, 1927, to Mr. Zhu Zesheng and Ms. He Bingxun in Hunan province, China. After graduating from Hunan Fuxiang Girls’High School in 1945 at the end of the anti-Japanese war, she went to study English at Wuchang Huazhong University in Hubei province in China with a full music scholarship. After graduation in 1949, Suzzane landed her first job as an English teacher for Hanyang Girls’ High School, kicking off a 40-year outstanding teaching career in education. While in college, she met her future husband, Xiping Yang, and they wed in 1949. They have three daughters, Ming Lang, Ming Liang, and Ming Guang, and a son, Ming Hong. After retiring in 1990, Suzanne lived in California with her son and daughter-in-law. She spent her time playing piano, singing, painting, sewing, crating, pottering, traveling, and visiting friends and family. Suzanne was predeceased by her husband Xiping Yang, her parents Zhu Zesheng and He Bingxun, her brother Zhu Duanbo, and her sister Zhu Zhengqing. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ming Hong Yang and Ulrike Yang, and her daughters and sons-in-law, Ming Lang Yang and Pei Lin Xie, Ming Liang Yang and Jiu Ling Zhao, and Ming Guang Yang and Wei Wang, and her grandsons and their wives; Alexander Yang, Dominic Yang, Zhen Xie and Lei Hong, Shan Ning Zhao and Xiao Na Feng, Ci Wang, and her great-grandsons, Anthony Xie and Dylan Xie.

Chris Rausis Suzanne was such a wonderful, talented and caring person. She touched my family’s life with her friendship and paintings of our pets. She will be missed.
