"Bo" (Francis) Duane Boughner

November 16, 1935 - August 03, 2022

Francis, Duane, Boughner (Bo), passed away in the early morning on August 3, 2022 after battling a lingering illness.  He is survived by his current wife Karen L. Boughner of Cedarpines Park, California, his three daughters, Pamela Thomas of Berkeley, California ,  Loni Stifel of La Habra, California, Stephanie Woolridge of Melbourne, Australia, and his son Jack Boughner of Pensacola, Florida.  He is also the grandfather of 5 grandchildren, Ben and Abbie Woolridge, Caitlyn Lee, Danielle Abu Innab, and Larry Stifel.
Bo was born, raised, and grew up in Franklin, Pennsylvania.  After completing his schooling,  Bo joined the Marine Corps and served in the Korean War.  After serving, he returned to Franklin, Pennsylvania where he met his first wife Barbara Friggle.  They married in 1957.  In 1963, after the birth of their second daughter Loni, they moved from Franklin to Long Beach, California.  Bo worked as a Mold Maker at a couple of different Mold Manufacturing businesses around the Long Beach area.  One in particular his children remember was when he worked for a company that handled a number of the Mattel Corporation toy projects.  His family remembers him bringing home some of the cast-off toys that had very minor imperfections that disqualified them for sale but were more than acceptable by his kids!  Bo and his wife Barbara were very involved in their children's lives, always attending the various functions his kids were involved in at school and outside school.  Bo was very supportive of his daughter Loni when she was a Polyette cheerleader at Poly High School and when his son Jack was active in their marching band.  He never missed a Poly "at home" football game at Vets stadium.  He loved all sports, and the family have fond memories watching things like Wide World of Sports, the Olympics, and all kinds of team sports on T.V. with him.  Pam and Stephanie  in particular both have great memories of watching and attending Rams and Dodgers games with him.
In 1987, Barbara was diagnosed with brain cancer.  For the 10 years that she battled against the cancer , Bo was at her side supporting her and honored the promise they made each other to never place the other in a home.  Barbara passed away peacefully at home in August of 1997.  Bo retired from his occupation shortly after that.  Not too long afterwards, Bo Met Karen Hunt, and they married in 2005 and moved  to Cedarpines Park, California in in that same year.
Bo's family in Southern California will be honoring his final wishes and scattering his ashes off Catalina Island, where  his wife Barbara's ashes were also scattered.

Christopher Dean I'm very sorry to hear this news. My grandmother was his Aunt Edith and my dad grew up in the same house with Duane and his sisters. I have some old photos of hers I would love to share with the family. Peace be with you.
