Anne Hovey-Emslie, née Hawthorne, passed away in Hospice on May 8, 2023 at 91 years of age.

 
She was born Ruth Annabel Hawthorne in Sweetsburg, Quebec on November 15, 1931 to Walter Hawthorne and Hilda Moynan. She had graduated from McGill University and started her 30 year teaching career in Beebe, Quebec when she married Allan Hovey in 1952 and they moved to Derby Line, Vermont.
 
Mom will be lovingly remembered by her 6 daughters - Linda, Barbara, Beverley, Susan, Kathy and Laurie with their many children and grandchildren as well as her brother John and his wife Denny Hawthorne and their family.
 
In 1970 Mom married Harold Emslie and moved back to Beebe until Harold died in 1979.  Harold is survived by his children John, Edith and David and their families who are also part of our extended family; Frances and Bob died earlier.  
  
In 1984 Mom married Tony Hubert who pre-deceased her in 1990. Tony is survived by his sons Dave and Ken and their families who are included in our extended family.
  
Our brother, Kenneth, died in 1962. Our father died in 1967 and Mom’s sister, Jane, pre-deceased her in 1992.
 
Mom and Harold "Pop" purchased a second home in Sarasota, Florida in 1978 and Mom eventually came to live here at Orange Acres year-round for 45 years. A burial will be scheduled for late August this year in the Derby, Vermont cemetery with family in attendance.
