Herman Wooten

September 11, 1929 - November 30, 2020

"Herman E. Wooten I - His life as capsulize by his son Herman E. Wooten II
He was a father to two sons, grandfather to four grandchildren, and a great grandfather to nine great-grandchildren."

With the relocation and beginning to make a life for himself and his family, he joined the Los Angeles City Parks and Recreation. During such time he enjoyed building his life, playing golf, refereeing and umpiring sports such as football, basketball, and baseball, establishing a relationship and opportunity with a son previously unbeknown to him with the heartiness of a father's love, enjoying future grandchildren and subsequent great-grandchildren. After an extensive career, he retired as the Director of the Griffith Park Boy Camp. He loved traveling, actually more on the road than in the air, with one of his goals being to visit all fifty (50) states; in which I believe he made it to at least forty-five of them.

"He introduced me to the game of golf and we had joyful times playing; at one point golfing across the country from California to South Carolina and back again. It wasn't until late in his life that I was finally able to beat him. He will be truly missed, but I know every time I step onto a golf course, his spirit will be with me. In his golden years, he continued to enjoy playing golf, traveling, and three-card poker in the casinos; with actually exceptional results -Can You Say- Dollar Dollar Bills y'all.

Hit them straight and long Dad and stay out of the Cloud (Sand) Traps, until we tee it up again.
With all my love
-Son HEWII"
