Reed Johnson

January 28, 1987 - February 28, 2021

"On Sunday, February 28, 2021, Reed Michael Rathburn Johnson, loving son,
grandson, brother, nephew, and cousin passed away at the age of 34 having
suffered an untimely heart attack.
Reed graduated from California State - San Marcos in 2016, and from Arizona
State University's  Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law in 2019. He was an
accomplished musician, and well known in the local music community as a
guitarist with Table4Six. He was a published performer and composer with
ASCAP."

"He made the hard improbable journey from GED to JD, earning degrees in
Sound, Music and Communications along the way. A legal career was his Plan
B ""just in case this whole rock star thing doesn't work out.""  Reed interned
as a law student with the Public Defender's office in Riverside County
California, defending the indigent in court. He loved ""sticking it to the
man"" and wanted to use all of his many gifts to make a difference in this
world.
A contemporary renaissance man, Reed was equally comfortable discussing
social issues, network speeds and feeds, states of quantum, the philosophy
of Descarte and Augustine, the nuances of intellectual property and, if he
really liked you, the deeper meaning found in rare forms of Japanese anime.
Reed was also extremely handy - always fixing things and making them just a
little bit better. He was never lazy by nature, but rather had energy to
spare and was generous with his time and talents to his family, and
friends. He loved gatherings of all sorts where he could enjoy the company
of others."

"As much as Reed loved to talk not all words came easily to his lips. If
ever he said that he loved you, you should know that he meant it, not only
in the moment, but that he held you in his heart to the very last. His
spirit never failed him. His mortal coil was simply too weak to contain it.
In the end, the same heart that drove his passions also ushered in his
passing.
Reed will be forever extremely missed by his entire family, from Rathburns,
Lewis' to Johnsons and the large extended Esquinas family. In lieu of
flowers please donate to a cause that will make this world a better place.
A celebration of his life will be held in California, in June when everyone
can gather in person."
