Karen Michelle Brandt of Reno, Nevada passed away in Palo Alto, CA on 5/6/2025.

Karen was born in Placerville, CA on 5/17/1963 to Joseph Van Buren Bateman and Elna May Eckhart. She attended Encina High School. She worked at Trotters service station in loup city, Nebraska before retiring. 

Karen enjoyed country music and good home cooked food. She spent many of her days wrapped up in her grandchildren's sporting events, school trips and special presentations, and celebrating their birthdays and accomplishments. Karen lived for the joy and happiness that her grandchildren brought her, and spent every spare moment she had giving them kisses, sneaking them treats, and enjoying their presence. 

SURVIVORS

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Michael Brandt. Her sister and best friend, Sherry.  She leaves 3 beloved children, Daniel "DJ" Emmons, Michelle Brandt, and Melissa Brandt. Her beloved nephews Robert Brandt (Deanna), and Joey Brandt.  Her god children, Alisha Valdez-Jackson (Clyde), Johnna Hull (JR), Tyler Mires (Mya), Alex Falls, Connie Buchanan (Shane), Kristen Titman (Anthony), and Christofer Cleveland (Michelle). 

She leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren: 
Allyson Carter-Valdez, Myles Dwyer, Clyde "CJ" Jackson III, Tierra Carter, Andolyn Jackson, Jerome Carter, Marlissa Logan, Azrael Jackson, Nahaliel Hull, Nate Hull, Savyna Buchanan, Andrew Buchanan, Joey Buchanan, Anastasia Titman, Anthony Titman, Hendrix Titman, Nico Castro, Christopher Cleveland, Zane Cleveland, Roger, Conner Pease, Breanna Moffett, Joseph Tyler Mires, and Ambrose Mires.  

She was predeceased by her mother Elna, her father Joseph, her niece Cecilia, and extended family and friends.
