With full hearts and fond memories, we share the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, David, who left us on May 15th, 2025 at the age of 64. While we’re heartbroken to say goodbye, we know he’s probably already telling a good joke or making someone smile wherever he is now.
David was the kind of man who could fix anything with a wrench and a wisecrack. Born in California, he lived a life full of stories, laughter, and love. He was a devoted father to Tabitha, Casey, Paul and Anthony and the world’s most fun and slightly mischievous grandfather to Zoey, Riley, Bentley, Presley, Beckett, Colton, Saige, and Amelia who adored him for his silly voices and endless M&M supply.

He had a talent for falling asleep halfway through movies and a habit of giving advice that was surprisingly profound, even if it started with, “But I'm just a crazy old man.”
He was enjoying retired life from the City of Cordell Water Department, traveling and visiting old friends.

David never met a stranger — only friends he hadn’t talked to yet. Whether he was helping a neighbor, cracking jokes at the dinner table, or cheering too loudly at LA Kings games, he brought people together.
He leaves behind a family who will forever carry his spirit, his stories, and his sense of humor. He is survived by daughter Tabitha Evanetich and family; daughter Casey Pickens and children; son Paul Sperle and family; and son Anthony Westreicher and family, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and we know he’s reunited with his mother Annette Westreicher, father Paul Westreicher, and brother Thomas Westreicher, likely already pranking them as only he could.
A celebration of David’s life (and legendary storytelling) will be held on a later date to be announced. Come share a memory, a laugh, and maybe even a toast in his honor.
