On April 19th, after a courageous 2 year battle with ovarian cancer, Genevieve Elizabeth Moreno left this world while surrounded by her family in the comfort of her childhood home. Genny is survived by her parents, Lynne and Mark, her stepmother Rika, her sisters Ali and Katie, her nieces and nephew (to whom she will always be Gigi), and all the wonderful friends and family that supported and loved her.
If you ever saw Genny with her art, be it her knitting, crocheting, tatting, or journals, then you saw her creativity and meticulous attention to detail. If you saw her work, teach, or be a student, you saw her passion and commitment to excellence. And if you ever saw her dance, then you saw the definition of joy. She was fierce, loving, stubborn, loyal, strong, and beautiful beyond words. To say she will be missed will never convey what so many of us feel in her absence.
A celebration of her life will be held in her hometown of Davis, CA on June 21st. For anyone who would like to join us, please leave a message or email osteogirl84@gmail.com with your contact info and someone will reach out. We will keep this page open and invite everyone who wishes to share pictures of memories of your time together. Nothing will take away the pain of losing her, but in remembering her, we keep her alive in our hearts.
