Ardell Leona Goff

August 14, 1942 - June 06, 2025

Ardell Leona (Perry) Goff, 82, went to be with Jesus on June 6th, 2025. Ardell had lived in assisted living in Woodbury MN since 2021.

Ardell was born in LaMoure ND on August 14th, 1942, to Earl Perry and Edna Schumacher.  Ardell had six children: Craig Boomgaarden, Derrick Jones, Blair Jones (Elena), Brett Boomgaarden, Everett Boomgaarden and Carter Boomgaarden. She loves and is very proud of her grandchildren Christa, Steven, Sadie (Jake), Dominic (Lindsey), Diana, Tyler (Maddy), Makayla, Siranie (Tony), Nicholas, Nathaniel, Brandy, Eva  and 8 great-grandchildren; Riche’, Asia, Riley, Ashtun, Caelen, Sophia, Koen and Lilah and one great-great-grand child Ariyah.

Ardell has two siblings, Lydia Annabelle (Eddie) Church, and DuWayne (Joanne) Perry and step-siblings Joyce, Phyllis, Eugene, LaVerne, Darrell, June, Betty, Esther, Yvonne, Cecelia, Everett, Ernie, and Sydney.  Ardell graduated from Jamestown in 1959 and soon after moved to San Diego CA with her sister where they worked in a secretarial pool.  She married James Kretchmar in 1960 and had Craig. She married Gordon Jones Jr. in 1963 and welcomed sons Derrick, Blair, and Brett.  In 1969 she moved back to Jamestown where she met George Boomgaarden.  They were married in 1972 and had sons Everett and Carter.  Ardell was married to EJ Goff until he passed in 2003.

Ardell and her family lived in Detroit Lakes MN before moving back to Jamestown where she lived until moving to Woodbury.  In Jamestown she worked for 22 years at the High Acres nursing home where she met her lifelong friend Gladys.

Ardell’s faith was very important to her, and she was quick to give a ride to a friend in need, offer a hug (“How about a hug”), say a prayer, or introduce herself to new friends she hadn’t met yet.

Her favorite activities included spending time with her children, grandchildren and the many friends she’d made over the years. In later life, she enjoyed going for car rides to see the changing seasons and scenery and especially Christmas lights.

Ardell was preceded in death by her parents, several sisters and brothers, sons Craig (2018) and Carter (1973), as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ardell’s final wishes include a small private family ceremony.
