Lynette Lydia Sahnow of Tigard, Oregon passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025 at Cedar Crest Alzheimer's Care Center in Tualatin, Oregon.
BACKGROUND WORK HISTORY
Lynette was born on a farm in Forest Grove, Oregon on December 24, 1941 to Herb and Ruth Sahnow. As the eldest of five children she learned the value of hard work, honesty, and caring for others. She was a 1960 graduate of Forest Grove High School and obtained both B.A. and M.A. degrees in French & English from Pacific University. She taught French and English at Hillsboro High School for over 20 years. She loved to teach and was greatly loved by her students and fellow teachers.
OTHER INTERESTS ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Lynette was an avid skier and traveler having made multiple Road Scholar trips and cruises with her husband Jeff. She was a gentle soul who loved animals and gave regularly to causes protecting animals, the environment and women's rights. She was co-president of the Tigard Branch of AAUW, American Association of University Women.

SURVIVORS
She is survived by her loving husband, Jeffrey L. Jones; sister Joanne Parker and husband Ralph; brother Charles Sahnow and wife Wendy; and a bus load of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Private Celebrations of Life will be held in her honor and she will be laid to rest at Mt. Olive Lutheran Cemetery, Gaston Oregon, close to her parents.
