Margaret Strand, 92, of Sacramento, Ca went home to be with Jesus on July 2, 2025. She died peacefully with her family at her side. Born Margaret Wilder on February 23, 1933 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Frank and Lula Wilder, She was number 3 of 10 children.
Margaret fiercely loved her family—especially her children. She was a woman of deep faith, rooted in the Pentecostal tradition in which she was raised. Though she didn't always follow the strict rules, her unwavering love for Jesus never changed. She found joy and comfort in watching televangelists like Jimmy Swaggart, often praising aloud with a hymn or gospel song that stirred her soul.
Margaret had a gift for storytelling—animated, detailed, and always unforgettable. Her voice would rise with laughter or song, often at the same time. She had a magnetic personality, drawing others in with her humor and heart.
She was an avid fan of true crime books and movies, and her favorite hobby was thrift shopping—especially trips to the Weave store, where she found treasures and joy in the hunt. She loved her food, and a special treat was always a trip to a steakhouse, where she’d savor every bite and every moment.
Margaret would often say she hadn’t done much in life, but she knew with full confidence that she had been a good mother. That was what mattered most to her—and she truly was. Her love, her faith, and her presence shaped the lives of those she held dear.
Ninety-two years feels like it wasn’t enough. But Margaret filled every day with love, laughter, faith, and stories that will live on in all of us.
Until we meet again, Mama—we love you with all our hearts.
