James Anthony Ferrie

February 17, 1973 - July 10, 2025

James Anthony Ferrie
February 17, 1973 – July 10, 2025

James Anthony Ferrie, age 52, passed away on July 10, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona. Born on February 17, 1973, in Norwich, Connecticut, James brought quiet strength, intelligence, and a wry sense of humor to everyone who had the good fortune of knowing him.

James was a gifted Senior Applications Developer whose dedication and brilliance in programming left a mark on every project he touched. His talents didn’t end with code—he had a true craftsman’s heart. He found joy in woodworking, beauty in photography, and endless comfort in the company of cats and kittens.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Marie Ferrie of Mesa, Arizona, his mother, Ilda Ferrie of Connecticut, mother-in-law Marcia Crossgrove of Queen Creek, Arizona, and, father-in-law Gregory Crossgrove of Seattle, Washington. He is also remembered by his brother-in-law Jeff Jablonski; sister-in-law Sarah Richards and her husband Scott; nephews Cash Richards, Nathaniel Jablonski, and Eliot Jablonski; and nieces Alexa, Amia, and Amity Richards.  James was predeceased by his father, James Francis Ferrie, and his sister, Christine Jablonski.

James was a private soul, and in keeping with his wishes, no services will be held in Arizona. Cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering in Connecticut will be announced at a later date for family and friends to honor and remember him.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor James’ memory are invited to make a donation to the Arizona Humane Society, a cause dear to his heart.

Condolences 6

Megan & Jeff Harmon Jim, Little James, Jimothy— You were incredibly funny, kind, smart and loved your feline children more fiercely than any Father ever has or will. Thank you for answering my hundreds of computer questions and taking us to hidden gems like that “new start-up, hole-in-the-wall” spot, Serrano’s. We are so grateful to have known you. You are loved and will be deeply missed.

Marcia Crossgrove To my darling daughter Jennifer. My heart is so full of love for you and Jim. He is a wonderful son-in-law, and he always will be. His quiet nature and thoughtful insight was very special to me. My love for the two of you will be there always. His presence will be sorely missed, but we know that we will be with him again.

jeffrey Jablonski Jimmy was truly a man of quiet strength and unwavering kindness. To Eli, Nate and me, he was more than an uncle and brother in law. He was a gentle presence, a patient listener, and a source of warmth and encouragement. His goodness showed in the small, everyday moments: a kind word, a helping hand, a smile that made you feel seen. We will remember him not only for the life he lived, but for the love he gave quietly but freely.
