In Loving Memory of My Dad 

He was born and raised in sunny California, and spent the last of his days in the great woods of Idaho. 

It’s with a shattered heart that I share the passing of my dad. He left this world far too soon, and we’re still trying to catch our breath from the diagnosis that took us off our feet. He fought every single day with everything he had, not wanting to leave the people he loved. 

My dad was a man of the woods and the water—he lived for fishing, hunting, and being surrounded by nature. He didn’t just keep those passions to himself; he shared them. He taught so many people the joy and peace of fishing, of being still with the world, of finding your place under the open sky. His love for the outdoors lives on in the people he brought along for the ride.

He was a proud papa to his grandkids and a steady, stubborn, loving dad to his daughters. I’m going to miss riding in the back of his truck through the woods, his laughter echoing through the trees, and his way of making the simplest moments into memories we’ll never forget.

We weren’t ready. We’re still not. But we’ll carry him with us—in the rivers, in the forest, in every cast line and crackling campfire.

Rest easy, Dad. We’ll take it from here.
