Charles Eugene Miller, affectionately known as Gene or Butch, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, at the age of 87 in Downey, California.

Born on May 7, 1938, Gene was an incredible father, a devoted brother, and a loyal friend. He lived a full and meaningful life, grounded in love for his family, deep connections with those around him, and a lifelong passion for sports.

A proud self-employed businessman, Gene built a life marked by resilience, integrity, and hard work. But his greatest pride was always his family. He was a loving father to five children, a proud grandfather to twelve grandchildren, and a joyful great-grandfather to fifteen great-grandchildren. His devotion to his family was the heart of who he was.

Gene had a contagious enthusiasm for sports-especially college basketball, cheering endlessly for the UCLA Bruins. He was also a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Los Angeles Dodgers, and he followed just about every sport imaginable with passion and insight. His love of the game was rivaled only by his love of sharing it with those closest to him.

Known for his warmth, humor, and generous spirit, Gene made an impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His stories, laughter, and steady presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and the kind of strength that quietly lifts others. His memory will live on in the lives of those he cherished most.
