Ronald Joseph Straccia

July 26, 1964 - August 08, 2025

Ronald (Ron) Joseph Straccia, J.D., 61, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on August 8, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and rhythm.

Ron was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts, the son of Albert and Josephine (Russo) Straccia. Ron had an adventurer’s spirit—intergrating himself into various states and communities throughout the course of his life. He lived in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Florida, and Arizona—but always considered Mansfield, Massachusetts to be his true home.

Ron was a lifelong learner, and held a high school diploma from Mansfield High School, a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and Management from Arizona State University, a J.D. in Law from Andover Massachusetts School of Law.

Ron was notorious for being a hardworker—obtaining his first job when he was 16. Notably, Ron worked as a mortgage broker and owned his brokerage for several years in Cranston, RI. At the time of his death, Ron was employed as a delivery driver by 1-800-Flowers in Mesa, Arizona, a position he spoke of fondly as it gave him the opportunity to bring joy directly to those who needed it most.

Of all Ron’s accolades and accomplishments—the title that meant the most to him was that of “father” to his two children: his son Joseph (Joe) Straccia and daughter, Alexandra (Ally). He filled their lives with music, wisdom, and unwavering love. Anyone who knew Ron, knew he loved his children—taking any and every opportunity to boast about how proud he was of them. They were the center of his universe and he loved to spoil them in any way he could.

His son, Joe, described Ron as “his protector”—someone who was caring, generous, kind, loyal, and had a heart of gold. A lifelong fan of Rush and Dream Theater, Ron’s passion for music and drums—often played from the heart in his living room—echoed in every beat of his life. His kindness, humor, and steady tempo will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Remaining to cherish Ron’s memory are his son, Joe and his partner, Morgan; his daughter, Ally; his sister, Ann Broderick and her husband, Tom; his niece and nephew, Jessica and John Broderick; his bonus children, Michele, Danyka, and Jack Silvernail; Joe’s mother, Sharon Hagberg Silvernail; lifelong friends, Scott, Jeff, and Chris; extended family, Kris and Mason St. Martin; cherished coworkers, and so many others.

A private burial will be held at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield, Massachusetts. Ron will be buried in the family plot alongside his parents, Josephine and Albert.

Donations in Ron’s memory and to aid in end-of-life expenses may be directed to Joseph Straccia or made to the family’s GoFundMe.
