Stephen Gary Hill, “Hill”, was born February 6,1949 to Cletius and Betty “Joy” (Minyard) Hill in Oklahoma City, OK. He died December 10, 2023 at Poudre Valley Hospital, after a 23-year struggle with rheumatoid arthritis. He was surrounded by family and friends.  Hill graduated from University of Oklahoma, Norman, with a degree in education, and settled in Fort Collins, CO, where he found his calling as a mail carrier for 35 years. Hill enjoyed a good conversation, listening to books and music, creating jokes, and drawing comic strips.  He was known for “out of the blue mail”, that he sent to an extensive friend list, with jokes, drawings, and observations.

 Hill found his love, Julie, in 1987 while folk dancing. They married in 1993, and had a son, Zachary. Hill will be missed for his kindness, the sparkle in his eyes, the song in his heart, and his ever-present wit and humor, even when he was so sick from the RA. 

 Hill is survived by his wife Julie (Fair), son Zack, sister Cindy Kimbrough (Charles), and other family members.  A private Celebration of Life was held at Avogadro’s Number Café in Fort Collins. Donations can be made in Hill’s name to American Friends Service Committee or ColorofChange.org.
