Michael "Pop Flop" Decker
February 1, 1957 – October 5, 2025
Michael “Mike” Garard Decker, 68, of Mesa, Arizona, went home to be with Jesus on October 5, 2025. Born in Muskego, Wisconsin, Mike lived a life filled with faith, joy, and a healthy dose of humor that could lighten any room—whether you wanted it lightened or not.
Mike spent many years working as a window salesman, and if you talked to him long enough, he’d probably ask how old your windows were and whether he could take a look at them. He loved what he did and approached his work the same way he approached his faith and family—with dedication, honesty, and a smile big enough to convince even the toughest customer that yes, those windows really did need replacing.
A devout Christian, Mike loved Jesus deeply and was never afraid to share that love with others. He found joy in serving people, giving his time freely, and reminding anyone who would listen (and sometimes those who wouldn’t) about the hope he had in Christ.
Mike adored motorcycles almost as much as he adored his granddaughters—and that’s saying something. If the sun was out, there was a good chance he was out also, riding the open road and thanking God for every mile. But nothing brought him more pride or happiness than his family, especially his grandchildren, who lovingly knew him for his jokes, hugs, and gentle, joyful spirit.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Jill Decker; his children Shawn (Katrina) Decker, Taylor Decker, and Ashlee (David) Edie; and his treasured grandchildren David, Jacob, Kilee, and Elliana. He is also survived by his brother Steve (Danielle) Decker and his sister Laura Decker as well as many friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, and members of the Christian community whose lives he touched with generosity, humor, and boundless faith.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on December 6th, 2025 at the Fountain of the Sun Activities Center in Mesa, Arizona. An additional memorial will be held this summer in Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Mike by donating to Teen Challenge or the Christian Motorcycle Association—two ministries that meant so much to him.
Mike’s journey here may be complete, but his laughter, love for Christ, and stories (oh, the stories) will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him. He has crossed the finish line, and we are sure he arrived in Heaven with the same smile he always had—probably cracking a joke, too.
