Richard Ernest Lind, a cherished son, brother, uncle and friend peacefully passed away on December 3, 2025 at the age of 52. Rick was born on March 7, 1973, to Sheila and Kenneth Lind in Vernal, Utah. Rick was born into a large family with five older brothers and three older sisters. He also had two younger sisters. He spent his childhood with his large family and neighbour kids playing games, building huts and enjoying the outdoors.
In 1990 Rick moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. He made lots of friends and enjoyed living in the big city.
Rick loved to travel and especially loved going abroad. He loved culture, adventure and experiencing new things.
He moved to Portland, Oregon in 2000. He loved Portland and its beautiful parks and public gardens. He spent a lot of time exploring Oregon's natural beauty outside the city. Being in nature was his element. He especially enjoyed walks on the beach, staying in cabins and yurts along the Oregon coast, and hiking the trails in the Columbia River Gorge and in the Mount Hood National Forest.
Rick graduated from Marylhurst University in December 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and major in Interior Design.
Rick was a talented interior decorator and designer. He was very successful in this field. Rick also spent some time as a Realtor and a salesman.
Rick was a very charismatic individual. He had a generous heart. He had a great sense of fashion and always looked sharp. He was also a talented artist.
He is survived by his brother Dennis Lind, Leann (Wade) Southam, Shona (Allen)Williamsen, Karen (Guy) Hansen, David (Debbie)Lind, Andy Mitchell, Steven Lind (Tony Clark), Loretta (Danny) Fountaine, Camille (Michael) Martin. Step sister Joann. Many nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces and spouses.
Proceeded in death by his mother Sheila and father Kenneth Lind. Step Mother Sylvia Lind, Brother Darris Lind, Brother in Law Glen Bowden, Niece Heather Christensen, Nephew Eric Bowden, Nephew Kyle Lind, Nieces Julie and Patsy Needles and Nephew in Law Brian Denkers.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 3:00 PM at American Fork Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Located at 240 S Center St, American Fork, Utah.
Family and friends are welcome to join us in remembering Rick, celebrating his life, and enjoying a light meal following the service.
