Laurie Ilene Rampling (Handy), was born in 1952 in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Though she later lived in Florida, San Francisco became her true home, the place where her life, friendships, and daily joys were rooted.
Laurie was deeply loving and deeply loved. She was a devoted mother and grandmother whose greatest happiness came from her son and grandchildren. Family was always at the center of her world, and her love for them was constant, generous, and unmistakable. She also had a special affection for her cats, who brought her comfort and companionship. Laurie loved movies, books, music, and time spent with friends. A cause that was always near and dear to her heart was donating whenever she could to protecting elephants. Laurie is survived by her son, Jason Wolf; her daughter-in-law, Sarah Wolf; and her grandchildren Kyra (Kika), age 20, Max, age 13, and Megan (Mo), age 14, who will carry her love with them always.

She was preceded in death by her mother Helen Handy, her father Graham Handy, her sister Linda Holt, and her brother Gary Handy.
