George Boyed Ellison, 79, passed away on March 23, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Stockton, California.

George was born on February 6, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, to James and Marion Ellison. In 1950, his family relocated to Redondo Beach, California, where he spent much of his childhood. He graduated from Redondo Beach High School in 1965.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. As a member of the 173rd Airborne Brigade, George completed over 2,000 jumps and rose to the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged in 1970. His service to his country is reflected in his courage, discipline, and dedication.

George shared 57 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Betty Ellison. Together they built a life centered on family, resilience, and enduring love. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Tracy Ellison and Margaret Trevino, who preceded him in death.

He was a proud grandfather to Haley and Hilary Trevino, and a cherished great-grandfather to his grand-daughters, Arabella, Keliyah, and Asianna. George also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as his sister, Juanita, of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Marion Ellison, and his brothers Edward, Carl, and James.

George Boyed Ellison will be remembered for his strength, ingenuity, and deep devotion to his family. He will be greatly missed and forever held in the hearts of those who loved him.
