Wilfred "Pard" Forest Brockman

June 17, 1942 - -

Wilfred “Pard” Forest Brockman, a lifelong resident of Carroll County, passed away at 3:50 p.m., Friday, May 28, 2021, at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Wilfred was granted an earthly life of seventy-eight years, eleven months, and thirteen days.

On a Wednesday, June 17, 1942, in Carrollton, Missouri, the Lord blessed the home of James Lucian and Frankie Arbuelah (Davis) Brockman with their son, Wilfred Forest. He was raised with a brother, James, and three sisters, Betty, Lucretia, and Mary Belle. He attended school in Carrollton and graduated from Carrollton High School with the class of 1960.

Wilfred asked for the hand of Patricia Kay Lybarger, and they were united in marriage in the Bogard Baptist Church on July 28, 1962. This union was blessed with three children, Timothy, Charmin, and Sheri. They shared obstacles and many celebrations during their fifty-eight years of marriage while maintaining their lasting friendship.

Wilfred was a maintenance supervisor for forty-two years for Stampers which later became Con-Agra Foods in Carrollton and later transferring to the plant in Macon, Missouri. He owned and operated Brockman Gun Shop from 1993 until 2008, and he also tinkered with and sold CB Radios.

Wilfred enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially deer hunting. He loved to go camping and boating at local lakes with his family, and they always had such a great time on these weekend trips. Wilfred was always working on guns or restoring old cars. He bought a 1932 Ford Coupe when he was only fifteen years old, and it is still in his garage today. Wilfred unconditionally loved his wife, children, and grandchildren and was an extraordinary influence on all their lives. His presence will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Wilfred is survived by his wife, Patricia Kay Brockman of the home; a son, Timothy Forest (Lora) Brockman of Carrollton, Missouri; two daughters, Charmin Kay (Michael) Leigh of Nashville, Tennessee, and Sheri Sue (Johnnie) Staton of Carrollton, Missouri; two sisters, Betty Thomas of California, and Lucretia Foster of Iowa; ten grandchildren, James Brockman, Heather Zinn, Kelsey Cunningham, Chassidy Hawkins, Morgan Leigh, Jacob Staton, Dillon Staton, Samantha Jo Staton, Lucas Staton, and Ethan Staton; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James O. Brockman, and a sister, Mary Bella Shea.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., at Foster Funeral Chapels, Carrollton, Missouri, with Pastor Ralph Varner officiating the service.

There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

As an expression of sympathy and in memory of Wilfred, Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
