In Loving Memory of Siu Fong Ng November 5, 1928 – June 19, 2026

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Siu Fong Ng, who passed away at the age of 97 on June 19, 2026, in Oakland, California.

Siu Fong was born on November 5, 1928, in China. Although he did not have the opportunity to complete high school, he learned the skilled trade of tailoring and became an accomplished tailor in Hong Kong, creating custom-made suits. After immigrating to the United States, he began a new chapter of his life as a talented master chef in California.

In 1957, Siu Fong married Maee Ha Kwan. Together they had four daughters and one son. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose greatest pride was his family.

He is survived by his children: Anna Yee and her husband, Steve Yee; Donna Lee and her husband, Daniel Lee; Mimi Jeffe and her husband, Scott Jeffe; and Jimmy Ng and his wife, Dora. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeannie, who passed away in 1977.

He also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren: Justin (Courtney), Alex (Kristin Tolentino), Brittany (Blake Baxter), Leslie, Jasmine, Alyson ( Neil Boriboon), Priscilla, and Kelsey; and seven treasured great-grandchildren: Grayson, Keanu, James, Phoenix, Elijah, Brighton, and Lawson all of whom brought him tremendous joy. 

In 1973, Pa courageously moved his family from Hong Kong to the United States in search of a better future for his children. Through hard work, determination, and sacrifice, he provided opportunities that reflected his unwavering love and dedication to his family.

Pa had a passion for good food and especially enjoyed seafood, with king crab and lobster among his favorites. He also loved Chinese-style roasted pig. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching Western movies, soccer, and professional wrestling. He was also fond of visiting casinos to play the slot machines.

As a chef, Pa found great happiness in preparing meals for others. He became especially well known for his delicious chicken salad while working at a restaurant in Berkeley, California, where many remembered both his cooking and his warm spirit.

Siu Fong Ng will be remembered for his resilience, hardworking nature, generosity, and deep love for his family. His legacy lives on through the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren he cherished so deeply.

He will be greatly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.
