Debbie Berryhill I got to know Maria over the years through my friendship with Jackie. She was always warm and kind to me and always had a smile on her face. Jackie and I would have long, humorous conversations about how similar her mom was to my own mom. (Both being immigrants and strong willed women.) Maria was a strong woman who loved her family immensely. She will be missed. May she rest in peace. ❤️

Derik Martin Maria was so kind and caring towards me always remembering to ask me about my family and my home. I have 20 years of good memories with this strong sweet and humble lady. As a family friend we shared so many good times together. She entertained me with stories and laughter. We seldom ran out of things to talk about whether it was family, friends, nature, food or even sports. Maria was a great communicator and a good listener. My condolences to the Vargas family. Lauren Cleary I got to spend time with Maria when Jackie and I were in college together and later living in Boston. Maria’s warm humor always led to laughter and fun. She encouraged us to work hard but also to enjoy life and go out to music and dance places, which we did! Lovely memories. She had such a big heart and her love and devotion to her family were always front and center. She was a remarkable, loving person who will be deeply missed. Love to her family.

Michelle Castro Maria was such a kind and fun person. I was one of Maria’s caregivers and whenever I would see her in her room she would offer me a snack and tell me to sit down and we would chat away. She would tell me how much she loved her kids and story’s of her life. She was an amazing person that never failed to make me laugh. She loved listening to music and would tell me how she loved to dance and would even get up from her chair to show me her dance moves to show me she still got it.
